Master of Education (M.Ed) & Teacher Education Program (TEP)

A variety of financial aid options available to both undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a Master of Education or teacher education program.

Opportunities include grants, scholarships, fellowships, and loan programs designed to support future educators. Funding options vary based on program, eligibility, and commitment to teaching in high-need areas.

State Funded Sources

  • If you received a Cal Grant A or B as an undergraduate, you can often extend it for one additional year to cover your credential program. You must apply for this extension through the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) within 15 months of receiving your last Cal Grant payment as an undergraduate student. Submit a CADAA or FAFSA and a G-44 Form to CSAC to be considered for a 5th year Cal Grant.

You may download the G-44 Form from CSAC here.

Once you complete the G-44 form, email it to CSAC at StudentSupport@csac.ca.gov with the subject line "G-44 TCP."

CSAC will start processing the G-44 Form in July, annually. Please do not send this form to the UCR Financial Aid Office.

Programs that can be considered for Cal Grant: M.Ed + TEP or TEP-only programs are considered. The M.Ed program on its own does not qualify students for the Cal Grant program. Cal Grant is applied toward TEP-only courses, not graduate courses.
